Car Cleaning Hacks to Make Your Cleaning Last
Freezing temperatures and heavy ice accumulation leave you with very few opportunities to care for your car in the winter the right way. However, summer is a welcome change when you need to make car cleaning your priority. Here are some car cleaning hacks that you will love.
Clean the Vents
A/C vents attract lots of dust. The vents are one of the most difficult places to clean in your car because of their design. You can use a foam brush or craft sponge brush that can squeeze in the tight places easily and scrape off the dust. Once the dust particles are loosened, you can blast them off with compressed air. If the dirt is difficult to remove, you can prepare a solution by mixing equal parts of vinegar and warm water. Dab the foam brush in the solution and wipe the vents down. After all the dirt is removed, you can dry the vents by using a dry foam brush.
Clean the Grille
Over time, the front grille of the car gets covered by dirt and dead bugs that looks very unattractive. You can clean off the dirt by wiping them down with dryer sheets. To clean the difficult to reach areas of the grille, use a mother wheel brush that can delicately clean the tight areas of the front grille without spoiling the delicate finish.
Clean Crevices
You will need a flat screwdriver and a clean rag to get the dirt off the crevices and corners of the interior of the car. Cover the screwdriver with a rag and gently use the flat end of the screwdriver to clean the dirt from the crevices.
Clean the Ceiling
Many car owners may overlook cleaning the car ceiling. But if you want a sparkling clean car throughout the entire interior, you cannot ignore the ceiling. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the ceiling. Don’t use any regular cloth as it will not give you good results and will leave traces of lint.
Brighten Headlights
If your headlights have turned foggy, they will need some special cleaning hacks to make them look brighter again. First, wipe off the dirt with a mild cleaning solution and water. After you are done with basic cleaning, you can slather toothpaste on the headlights and gently scrub the toothpaste in a circular motion. After a few minutes, wash off the toothpaste with water and you will find that the headlights have turned sparkling clean once again.
Remove Bumper Stickers
It is not easy to remove bumper stickers. This hack makes your life easier with just the help of a hair dryer. Blow the hair dryer over the bumper sticker so it softens the adhesive and the bumper sticker can be easily pulled off without leaving any marks.
Shine the Dashboard
After you have cleaned the dashboard with a moist cloth, rub some Vaseline on the dashboard to give it a nice shine. You can wipe off the excess Vaseline with a clean cloth after some time.
Remove Stains from Car Upholstery
To remove any stubborn stains on your car upholstery, you can prepare a solution by mixing 1/4 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Apply the solution on the stains of the upholstery and leave it for a half hour. Use clean blot paper to absorb the stains from the upholstery.
