How To Get Dog Hair Out Of Your Car

How to Get Dog Hair Out of Your Car

We all know dogs are adorable creatures. It is quite common for people to take their dogs with them in their car. However, every dog owner will agree that getting rid of dog hair from the car is a bit difficult. Here we tell you five ways to get dog hair out of your car.

Use a Vacuum Cleaner

Removing loose dog hair is the first step to getting rid of dog hair left behind in the car. It goes without a saying vacuuming your car’s interior can remove all loose dog hair. Investing in a powerful hand-held vacuum cleaner is a good idea, especially if your pet travels with you in the car more often.

Use a Rubber Glove

A rubber glove is a commonly used tool to get rid of pet hair from car interiors. Rubber gloves can wipe off dog hair from seats and carpets, as rubber naturally attracts hair due to static electricity. You can use any kitchen rubber glove to remove dog hair. However, make sure you don’t use bright yellow gloves used to clean toilets. To get the best results, use rubber gloves with nubs. Rub the desired surface repeatedly to collect dog hair and then remove it in one ball.

You can also slightly dampen the gloves to remove some stubborn dog hair sticking to surfaces. Rubber gloves are preferred over vacuuming because it causes less wear on the seat fabric. If you don’t have rubber gloves, you can also use a sponge or wet cloth to get dog hair out of your car. You can also find specially designed rubber gloves to remove pet hair, but ordinary rubber gloves are also effective in removing pet hair sticking to your car’s upholstery.

Use VELCRO® brand Curlers

VELCRO® brand curlers or other hook-and-loop fasteners can also be used to remove pet hair from car seats and carpets. If your hair can stick to these curlers, why can’t your dog’s hair stick to it? However, you need to be careful while doing it. First, test the curler on a small area and ensure it does not snag the car seat fabric or cause it to pill. VELCRO® brand curlers are quite useful in removing dog hair as you can bend them to reach tight spaces and corners of seats. You should dedicate a few curlers for this purpose only and not use them for anything else.

Use An Inflated Balloon

It may sound surprising to many, but an inflated balloon can pick up dog hair from your car’s upholstery due to static electricity. All you need to do is run the inflated balloon over the areas where you see dog hair. The dog hair gets attracted towards balloon and sticks to its surface. You can then wipe the balloon clean and reuse it.

Use Dryer Sheets

You can also use dryer sheets to get dog hair out of your car. All you need to do is run the dryer sheet over the car seats, carpets and console to get rid of dog hair.

Now that you know safe methods to get dog hair out of your car, go ahead and follow any of them to keep your car free from dog hair.
